Ontology configuration

The Ontology is used to define the classes that make up the entities, text references and connection types in your project. It is applied as part of your Ingestion configuration before documents are uploaded to your collectionA collection is a container for storing and organising ingested files and documents. Only the textual content is stored in collections, not the original files and documents.. It is also used for the manual mark up and modification of document text references.

Create a new Ontology

In the Create tab:

  1. In the Name box, enter a name for your Ontology.
  2. Click Create.

Create a new Ontology class

In the Ontology Configuration panel:

  1. In the Root class, click Add .
  2. Enter a name.
  3. Click Create.

Rename an Ontology class

In the Ontology Configuration panel:

  1. In the Class, click Rename .
  2. Enter a new name.
  3. Click Rename.

Delete an Ontology class

In the Ontology Configuration panel:

  1. In the Class, click Delete .
  2. Click Delete.

Change the type of an Ontology class.

In the Ontology Configuration panel:

  1. Hover your pointer over the class you want to change.
  2. Click and drag the class into the section belonging to the new class type.

Change the color of an Ontology class

In the Ontology Configuration panel:

  1. In the Class, click Modify Color .
  2. Apply your color changes and click OK.

Create a new Ontology Connection type

In the Ontology Configuration panel:

  1. Click Add Connection Type.
  2. Enter a name.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Select a Class for the first box.
  5. Enter a Role for the first box.
  6. Select a Class for the second box.
  7. Enter a Role for the second box.
  8. Select a Class for the keyword.
  9. Click Save.

Rename Ontology Connection type

In the Ontology Configuration panel:

  1. In the Connection Type, click Rename .
  2. Enter a new name.
  3. Click Change.

Delete Ontology Connection type

In the Ontology Configuration panel:

  1. In the Connection Type, click Delete .
  2. Click Delete.
