Search results

Search Results display the results of your Search Query and can be divided into three main sections:

Each of these areas and the tasks you can perform from them are explained in more detail in the sections below.

Search Result Clustering Pane

The Search Results Clustering Pane contains the Cluster Search Results button and displays the results of the clustered search results when the button is pressed.

Note: Clustering is the process of grouping together things which appear to share common attributes. This feature allows you to automatically group together search results which appear to contain information about a particular subject.

Cluster search results

In the Before Clustering View click Cluster Search Results.

The view will change and highlighted text (representing search result clusters) will appear along with a Generate Dictionary button.

View search results from a specific cluster

In the After Clustering View click on a search result cluster.

Search results that belong to that cluster will be displayed.

Generate a Dictionary from clustered search results

Note: Dictionaries are used in Document Processing configurations and Entity Extraction Scripts to help with the automatic creations of Text References in your Documents. Text References are specific words that have been automatically or manually labelled in a Document's text to indicate entities (for example, persons, locations, organizations) of interest.

  1. Click Generate Dictionary.
  2. Click Save & Close.
  3. Select a Project (to add the Dictionary to) from the list.
  4. In the Dictionary Name box, enter a name to create a new Dictionary, or select an existing one from the list.
  5. Click Create.

Your dictionary will be stored in Dictionaries, accessible through the Configurations view.

Refer to the Dictionaries help pages for more information about what Dictionaries are and how they are created and used.

Search Results Toolbar

The Search Results Toolbar allows you to apply global changes to the Documents found in search results.

Apply new Document Tags to Documents listed in search results
  1. In the Tag Category box, enter a Tag Category or select one from the list.
  2. In the Tag Name box, enter a Tag Name or select one from the list.
  3. Select the Bulk Operations checkbox.
  4. Click Bulk create specified document tags.
  5. Click Apply to all search results or Apply to current page of search results.
Delete Document Tags from Documents listed in search results
  1. Click Modify and select Document Tags.
  2. In the Tag Category box, enter a Tag Category or select one from the list.
  3. In the Tag Name box, enter a Tag Name or select one from the list.
  4. Select the Bulk Operations checkbox.
  5. Click Bulk delete document tags.
  6. Select a deletion level from the following options:
    • of specified Name in specific Category - deletes the Tag defined in step 2 from the Tag Category defined in step 3.
    • of all Names in specified Category - deletes all the Tags from the Tag Category defined in step 3
    • of all Names in all Categories - deletes all the Tags from all Tag Categories
  7. Click Apply to all search results or Apply to current page of search results
Copy search result Documents into a Collection
  1. Click Copy Into Collection.
  2. In the Select or Create Collection box, select a Collection from the list or enter a name to create a new Collection.
  3. (optional) In the Maximum Number of Documents box, enter the number of search results to include.
  4. Click Copy.
Create a Network from search results
  1. Click Create Network .
  2. Enter a name for your new Network.
  3. Clear the Overwrite existing network checkbox.
  4. In the Network Creation Configuration list, select a Network Creation Configuration.
  5. Click Create.
Delete Documents found in search results
  1. Click Delete Documents.
  2. Click Delete.

Warning: All documents found in the search results will be completed erased from Sintelix. You will not be able to retrieve them if you did not export a backup.

Download a list of the search results as HTML
  1. Click Downloadand select Results List from the list.
  2. Click Export as HTML.
  3. Click Export.

Download a list of the search results as plain text
  1. Click Downloadand select Results List from the list.
  2. Click Export as plain text.
  3. Click Export.

Download all search results Documents

Click Downloadand select XML Documents from the list.

A zip file containing the search result Documents in xml format will be downloaded to your local file system.

Download original source files of all search results Documents
  1. Click Downloadand select Source Documents from the list.
  2. Select the Attempt to retrieve from Server Library if available checkbox.
  3. Select Only export the exact source document.
  4. Click Download.

A zip file containing the original source files of the search result Documents will be downloaded to your local file system.

Search Result Pane

Each Search Result has up to 4 tabs that provide you with information about a specific search result:

View the original Document

At the top of the Search Results pane, locate and click on the search result's title.

The Document panel will open and display the contents of the original Document.

Search for Documents that are similar to a specific search result

On the far left side of the Search Results pane, locate and click Search for Similar Documents .

A Search Query using the Document Similarity search facet will run and display the search results in a new window.

Search Results Tab

This shows the specific query text that was found for a search result.

View highlighted text in original Document

In the Search Results tab, click on any highlighted text.

The Document panel will open and display the selected query text within the contents of the original Document.

Results in Context Tab

This shows the specific query text and the textual context in which it was found.

In the Results in Context tab, click on any highlighted text.

The Document panel will open and display the selected query text or Text Reference within the contents of the original Document.

Show All Tab

This shows the specific query text and all the Document Properties, Document Tags and Text References that belong to the same Document in the search result.

In the Show All tab, click on any highlighted text.

The Document panel will open and display the selected query text, Text Reference, Document Tag or Document Property within the contents of the original Document.

Similar Results Tab

View the original document of similar search results

In the Similar Results tab, click on the Document Title of the result you want to view.

The Document panel will open and display the contents of the original Document.
