Documents overview

The Document panel displays the contents of a document and provides access to tools for editing, exporting and analyzing a document.

Task

Action

View all Geo-locations found in a Document

In the Document Toolbar, click Geo-locations to open the Map panel.

Refer to the Map panel help page for instructions on how to use this feature.

Edit Document Text References and Document Tags

In the Document Toolbar, click Edit to open the Edit Document panel.

Refer to the Document Editor help page for instructions on document editing.

Show or hide a Document's Text References

In the Quick Access Pane, select the Text References checkbox to show a Document's Text References or clear the Text References checkbox to hide them.

Show a list of all entities in a Document

In the Document Toolbar under the Tools menu, click List Entities to open the Document Entities panel.

In the Document Entities panel:

  1. Click a Document Entity Category to display a list of all the Entities that belong to that category.
  2. Next to each Entity, click show to locate the Text Reference of that Entity in the Document.

Find structures in a Document (Advanced Feature)

In the Document Toolbar under the Tools menu, click Find Structures to open the Find Structures panel.

Refer to the Find Structures panel help page for instructions on how to use this feature.

Find similar Documents

In the Document Toolbar under the Tools menu, click Find Similar Documents to open Search.

In Search:

In the Search Query pane of the Search panel, click Search.

Similar documents will be displayed in the Search Results panel.

Open Document's original source file or URL

In the Document Toolbar, under the Document Source menu, click on the available link.

Notes:  

  • If there are no available links to a Document's source file, all the options under Document Source will appear dimmed. If a link to a Document's source file is available, there will only be one available option.
  • If the file source is on your local system or on a server connected to your computer, the original source file will open and display.
  • If the file source is from a URL, a new browser window will open and display the URL.

Export a Document

In the Document Toolbar, click XML Export.

Translate a Document

In the Document Toolbar, under the External Services menu, click Google Translate.

View Text Reference (entity) details

In the Document Content section, click a Text Reference.

A pane displaying details about the Text Reference will appear below the Document Content section.

Find more of the same Text Reference in a Document

  1. In the Document Content section, right click a Text Reference you want to find more of.
  2. In the menu that appears, under Search in Document, click Text Reference Search.

Find more of the same Text Reference text in a Document

  1. In the Document Content section, right click a Text Reference you want to find more of.
  2. In the menu that appears, under Search in Document, click Text Search.

Find more of the same Text Reference in a Collection

  1. In the Document Content section, right click a Text Reference you want to find more of.
  2. In the menu that appears, under Search in Collection, click Text Reference Search.

Find more of the same Text Reference text in a Collection

  1. In the Document Content section, right click a Text Reference you want to find more of.
  2. In the menu that appears, under Search in Collection, click Text Search.
