Creating a project

An ETA project is a container in which all the artifacts pertaining to a project, that is, collectionsA collection is a container for storing and organising ingested files and documents. Only the textual content is stored in collections, not the original files and documents., networksA network is a visual summary, generated by ETA, of the information in one or more documents. and configurations, are stored.

Note: You can only view and edit projects and the artefacts within them if you have sufficient permission to do so.

To create a project:

  1. Go to the ETA Home screen then click Create a project.
  2. Note: You can also click Open a Project at the top left of the screen then click Create Project, or click Browse all projects then, under the list of projects, click Create a Project.

  3. Enter a name for the project.
  4. To restrict access to the project to one or more users or groups, click Unsecured, click the plus symbol beside Users or Groups, enter the username or group name then click Add. Add other users or groups as required. Click Apply.
  5. Note: The only permission you can apply here is access to the project. Once you have created the project you can apply other permissions.

    The users and groups with access to the project are listed under ‘Security’.

  6. Click Create.
  7. The project is opened on the dashboard. You can now add a collection to the project (see Creating a collection).
